Overview of ID Check Verification Methods

The ID check service provides two types of personal identity verification methods.
All verification flows are conducted through ARGOS’s proprietary submission format, Liveform.

🪪 ID document

A verification method based on official ID document submission.

This is the most widely used method. The typical process includes:

  1. ID document capture and submission
  2. Selfie capture (if the feature is enabled)
  3. Address entry (if the feature is enabled)
  4. Additional info input (if the feature is enabled)

Most clients use this as the default verification method, often combining
ID submission with selfie capture to strengthen identity assurance.

💡 Knowledge-based

A simplified verification method based on user-provided information.

The following items are required:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • SSN (U.S. only)
  • Address (map-based — different from the ID document method)
  • SMS phone verification

Depending on the configuration, the following may also be requested:

  • Selfie capture (if the feature is enabled)
  • Additional info input (if the feature is enabled)
Note

Knowledge-based verification is ideal when quick onboarding is required without the need for ID submission.

📌 Liveform Operation Guide

Each project is assigned one ID document Liveform and one Knowledge-based Liveform by default.
These can be found in the Settings menu of the dashboard.
Both methods can be used independently or in combination within the same project.
