Add On

The add-On is a feature that allows you to take a face photo based on your existing eKYC information to verify further that you are who you say you are. It verifies that you are who you say you are by comparing your face image with the identity information secured during the eKYC verification process. Identity verification is completed by taking a single-face photo without a separate ID card.

Based on the features provided by ID check, the following cases can be applied to the service all-weather.

Identity verification in case of password loss
When a user forgets their password, the normal Identity verification process alone can be a security risk.
You can utilize the Face-based Add-On: Face feature to quickly and reliably verify the user's identity and design a path to reset the password.

Two-step verification for large transactions & necessary contracts
When sending large sums of money or signing necessary contracts, it's always a good idea to have a separate two-step verification for extra security.
The Add On: Face feature enables a more authentic and secure process by adding a facial verification step to traditional methods like passwords and OTPs. This two-factor authentication process ensures user trust and safety.

Authentication in emergencies
Sometimes, authentication becomes a significant hurdle when users are out of their routine and need to access services or information urgently. For example, in an emergency abroad, Add On: Face authentication can be a great alternative when you can't use your phone for Identity verification or OTP methods.
You don't need to bring anything with you, just your mobile device, and you can quickly complete Identity verification with a single photo of your face.

eKYC and Add-On projects depend on each other, with eKYC being the parent and Add-On features being the child. Therefore, you need a valid eKYC project or an approved eKYC submission to authenticate an Add-On.

Step 1 Creating an Add-On feature.

To apply the Add-On feature, go to Dashboard > Add On and click Create project.

* The add-on feature is subject to separate pricing policies. Please request the pricing policy in advance through our sales team.

Step. 2: Setting up project information
On the settings page, you can set the project name and logo served through the Add-On feature and create a button that redirects to the specified URL when the submission is completed.

Step. 3 Add-On policy settings
* All numbers are thresholds, where lower numbers indicate a lower threshold for accuracy or matching, and higher numbers indicate a higher threshold for accuracy or matching.

Face Auth Threshold: This threshold verifies the recognition of the same person by comparing the submitter's face information with the existing approval status. You can adjust the similarity level according to the number you set.

Liveness: Verifies whether the end-user's selfie photo taken during the Add-On stage is valid. You can adjust the Liveness level according to the value you set.

Face Cover Required: Set a confidence score to determine whether the end-user selfie taken during the Add-On step is well protected (covered) by a mask, goggles, etc. This option cannot be set simultaneously with the 'Face Occluded' option.

Head Cover Required: Set the confidence score to determine whether the end-user selfie taken during the Add-On step is well protected (covered) with a hard hat.

Face Occluded (On/Off): Checks whether the face is obscured. When set to ON, it will recognize and reject covered faces. It cannot be set with the 'Face shield threshold' option.

Once you have finished the above details, you can click Save.

As shown above, an Add-On project that depends on the eKYC project is automatically created. This means the Add-On URL and API key are linked without additional configuration. The link to the Add-On LiveForm URL can be found in the dashboard (see image below). The 'pid' in the URL contains the ID of the Add-On project, followed by the eKYC Submission ID as a Query String. This checks to see if the Submission ID in the eKYC project matches the Add-On project ID. Suppose you need to enter an approved Submission ID or a Submission ID. In that case, you won't be able to authenticate the Add-On subsequently because we can't find the reference information to proceed with face authentication.

Step. 4 Publish the Add-On

- End-users can proceed with LiveForm directly through the automatically mapped Add-On URL.

- You can also configure a separate front-end. In this case, please look at the POST/Face Auth documentation on the developer documentation page.

Step. 5 Submit (Add-On end-user view)

When the URL containing the Submission ID is called, the authentication screen appears on the webpage, and depending on the options you specified in advance, the end-user will see a caution. If the call is made from a PC, the user sees a QR code, and if the user scans the QR code with a mobile device, a web browser opens to begin authentication. The user can take a photo of their face once for authentication (no retry opportunity). They can use either the browser's web camera or the mobile device's native camera.

Step. 6 Check the results of end-user Add-On submissions

Select 'View' for the Add-On project you want to view > Select 'View' for the Add-On submission you wish to view within that project.

Add-On submission detail page

On the Add-On submission detail page, you can check the time the Add-On was started, the Add-On ID, the Add-On policy applied to the submission, the Add-On submission ID, and the final status of the Add-On.
You can automatically compare and analyze the selfie taken through the Add-On with the previously approved eKYC information selfie to determine whether it is the same person.
